Terms of Service
These terms apply to the Audio Transcriber Chrome extension, its backend and this website, operated by Uladzislau Karzo. By using Audio Transcriber you accept them. Contact: [email protected].
The service
Audio Transcriber turns speech from a browser tab, a microphone or an audio or video file into text, and offers notes, answers, translation and downloads based on that text. Transcripts are made by automatic speech recognition and AI and can contain mistakes; check them before relying on them.
Your recordings and your responsibility
- You may only record and transcribe audio you are allowed to. Recording a conversation can require the consent of everyone in it; ask before you record a call or a meeting.
- Respect copyright: transcribing a work for your own study is one thing, publishing its transcript can need the rights holder’s permission.
- You keep all rights to your recordings and their transcripts.
Free minutes and Pro
- Free use is limited. While Pro is on sale, the free plan includes a set number of minutes of transcribed speech a month, renewed at the start of every month (UTC; in the month Pro goes on sale, counted from that day). While it is not on sale, free use has a daily limit, renewed every day at midnight UTC. The pricing page shows the current numbers, and Settings in the extension shows your limit and how much of it is used. There is also a daily number of AI requests.
- Pro, when it is on sale, removes the minute limit and raises the AI limit. It is a subscription billed by Stripe, at the price shown before you pay. It renews until you cancel; cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the paid period. Taxes may apply. A subscription you have keeps working while Pro is not on sale, and you can still cancel it from the extension.
- Plans and limits belong to the anonymous account of your copy of the extension. Reinstalling the extension starts a new account; write to us and we move a paid plan over.
- If something you paid for did not work, write to us within 14 days and we refund it.
Fair use
Do not abuse the service: no automated or bulk use outside the extension, no attempts to get around the limits, no reselling. We may limit or close accounts that do.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Audio Transcriber available and correct, but provide it “as is”, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for losses caused by mistakes in transcripts; our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
Changes
We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. If a change matters for paid users, we say so in the extension before it applies.
